Belém is a neighborhood located just below Estufa Real (the wedding venue) and is a bit outside the city center. It hosts some of the most well known tourist attractions in the city and has an excellent tram line along the Tagus River.
This has over 30,000 reviews on Google, bonkers! It was declared a UNESCO world heritage site. Common words in the reviews are tranquil, peaceful, and beautiful but people warn that it is a tourist trap and advise visiting it early in the day.
The museum is located within the Jerónimos Monastery. Zach went here with his friend Diana, who you'll meet at the wedding, the first time he visited Portugal and thinks it's worth a look if you've got time.
People love the location but say the rooms in the hotel are a bit dated. Some of the guests, particularly in the front-facing rooms, complained of the street noise so we advise getting a room close to the back of the hotel.
It's definitely not the cheapest option but most people loved the experience. They raved about the location, the comfort of the beds, and the amount of space in the rooms. A few guests noted that they were disturbed by noise in their rooms close to the front desk.
